    What is Kiwi.com?

Kiwi.com is a Czech flight search engine that can do what others can't - combine flights from different airlines that don't officially cooperate. Thanks to this, you'll find connections and prices that other search engines can't match.

    Why I use it

When I'm looking for a flight, Kiwi is the first thing I open. Especially for longer trips with a layover or multi-city itineraries. The Nomad feature also calculates the cheapest order of destinations when I want to visit multiple cities.

    How it works

    1. Enter origin, destination and date (or "anywhere" for inspiration)
    2. Kiwi searches flights from hundreds of airlines and creates combinations
    3. You'll see the cheapest options sorted by price, time, or number of layovers
    4. You choose and book directly through Kiwi (they handle ticketing)
    5. If the combination includes a "self-transfer" between airlines, you're covered by the Kiwi Guarantee

    Who is it ideal for

    • Flexible travelers - the "anywhere" function + flexible dates find bizarrely cheap flights
    • Multi-city planners - Nomad calculates the optimal route between 3+ cities
    • People with buffer in their plan - self-transfer combinations save money, but you need time

    Tips for using

    • Use Nomad for multi-city trips - it often saves 30-50% vs. manual searching
    • Kiwi Guarantee covers missed self-transfers (alternative or refund), but only if you book through them, not directly with the airline
    • For a simple direct flight, compare the price directly on the airline's website - sometimes it's cheaper there
    • Pay for baggage during booking, not additionally - it's usually more expensive

    My verdict

Kiwi is my first stop for flights. On a trip to South America, I saved over 6000 CZK by combining two airlines compared to direct booking. Self-transfer makes sense when you have a buffer in your itinerary.
