    What is Airbnb?

Airbnb connects travellers with stays, experiences and services. Search for a room, an entire flat or house, and activities hosted by locals. Availability of each category varies by destination.

    Why use it when travelling

A flat with a kitchen can be practical for families or longer stays. Experiences and services add local activities or professionals to a trip. Compare the final price and your actual needs before assuming it is better value than a hotel.

    How it works

    1. Open the app or website and enter dates, destination and guest numbers.
    2. Choose your accommodation type and required amenities.
    3. Read recent reviews, house rules, cancellation terms and the total price.
    4. Ask the host about anything unclear before booking.
    5. Save the address, check-in instructions and important contacts after confirmation.

    Who it is best for

    • Families and groups wanting shared space or a kitchen.
    • Longer-stay travellers with specific amenity needs.
    • People seeking local activities where experiences are available.
    • For a hotel with reception and simpler arrival, compare Trip.com.

    Tips for using it

    • Look for review details about noise, location and reliable check-in.
    • Confirm workspace and connectivity before a remote-working stay.
    • Keep communication and payments within Airbnb rather than following unfamiliar off-platform links.
    • Save check-in instructions outside the app in case you lose signal. Use Organic Maps for offline directions.

    Pricing and things to check

The app is free; reservations are paid. Review the total and all listed charges before confirming. Fees and cancellation rules vary by offer, and experiences or services are not available everywhere.

Pavel's personal links cover stays, experiences and services. Check any reward and eligibility on the destination page; a discount is not guaranteed.

    My verdict

Consider Airbnb when you need a kitchen, more space or accommodation outside hotel hubs. Compare totals, recent reviews and cancellation terms with a hotel. For a single night, a flat may not be the most practical choice.
