Packing for a trip is an art. Too little, and you'll be buying things at tourist prices. Too much, and you'll be dragging unnecessary baggage. Here are my 5 essentials that I take on every trip.
1. Power Bank with USB-C
Without power, you're lost abroad. Maps, tickets, eSIM - everything runs on your phone. I recommend at least 10000 mAh with a USB-C output.
2. Universal Adapter
One adapter, all outlets. Buy a quality one with USB ports and you won't have to worry about whether the country has type A, G, or M.
3. Microfiber Towel
Dries in an hour, takes up minimal space, and weighs a few grams. Perfect for hostels, the beach, and treks.
4. Water Bottle with Filter
Saves money and nature. In many countries, tap water is drinkable after filtration. Grayl or LifeStraw are proven choices.
5. Packing Cubes
Backpack organizers that will change your life. Clothes are neatly divided and your backpack won't close like a sack of potatoes.
Bonus: What NOT to Bring
- Too many clothes - laundry is cheap abroad
- Paper books - a Kindle weighs 180 grams
- Jewelry and expensive watches - unnecessary risk
Happy packing! 🎒
